This heavily modified apocalyptic Deathkart is actually a former 1991 Nissan 240SX. Looking like something straight from the set of Mad Max, this vehicle is the brainchild of pro drifter Mike Perez. He teamed up with U.S. based Speed Warhouse workshop to create this machine. Perez actually did get his inspiration from the Mad Max Fury Road movie, which explains the post-apocalyptic look of this beast.
It is hard to believe that the original donor vehicle was a Nissan 240SX drift car. It was originally crunched pretty hard during a drift competition. So, Perez added a roll cage for protection and completely stripped the donor, which he transformed into this badass machine.
Perez added a bunch of things to this machine. He basically just let his imagination run wild when it came to designing the Deathkart, stopping at the local junkyard whenever the mood suited to find suitable parts to affix to his Deathkart.
Perez started with a turbocharged 2.5-L 1J engine and modified high-capacity fuel injectors, a new pump and an AEM Infinity intake. Other mods include last generation Supra tie rods, and custom formed scrapyard metal all-around. He even added a .50 calibre machine gun on the front for style. On the rear are 35-inch Super Swamper tires and TEIN coilovers on all four corners.
Needless to say, this beast in not road legal anywhere. Road legality was never Perez’s goal in designing this vehicle. The Deathkart is simply an expression of Perez’s creativity.
